Ever since the premiere of Campaign 4, recently appointed game master Brennan Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with deep backstory, a wide array of personalities, and a thrilling plot featuring divine entities, evil spirits, and dark forces increasing in power within the urban setting.
Warning: Revealing details for the latest installment of the new season follow below.
The Warrior Group Introduced
Episode 3 finished on a huge suspense moment and presented the first table of heroes who will split off from the central cast to undertake their independent quest, separate from the remaining groups.
This warrior group includes Teor (brought to life by the voice actor), Thimble (Laura Bailey), the strong-willed figure (the cast member), the cleric (the player), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie Daymond).
Why Split the Party?
Considering 13 cast members, it was clear from the outset that having everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.
Hence, the opening chapters of Campaign 4 serve as an Prelude, intertwining the individual narratives before splitting into three distinct groups: Warriors, Schemers, and Questers.
What Defines the Soldiers Table
As described by the Dungeon Master, the Soldiers table is for players who are drawn to a traditionally charged combat and conflict-driven gameplay experience where non-violent answers are scarce.
Initially, characters like the squeamish cleric Wicander might seem out of place, but the events of the third episode show why these specific adventurers are ideally matched for the warrior group.
Reasons to Leave
To begin with, the group has a clear idea where to head next after a intense initial meeting with the enemy group.
An old friend of the deceased character—whose demise kicked off the story’s plot—manipulated the foes for his personal gain, invading the hidden lair, attacking Thimble, and taking all the magical artifacts to auction.
Casimir then paid off his liabilities and fled to a fortified location in the northern region, above the city, with Cyd close behind.
Character Drivers
Additionally, each character has a specific drive to leave the city Dol-Makjar:
- Thimble, as Thjazi’s partner and trusted friend, seeks revenge.
- The adventurer is familiar with the northern area and advises that it is a hostile environment.
- The strong character and The cleric, having defied his family’s wishes to execute the target and instead rescued him, have no other options.
- But, their status as key figures in House Halovar could assist the party access places they normally couldn’t.
- Moreover, Teor vowed a eternal obligation to Wicander for his salvation and will now accompany him everywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
Lastly, all of them are hunted by the rulers that control the setting for a variety of reasons, making remaining behind dangerous:
- The agile adventurer and The character are known criminals.
- Tyranny and The cleric betrayed the powerful family and the legion of demons they are aligned with.
- The fighter is wanted dead by House Halovar.
This results in them little choice but to travel to the northern region in quest for Casimir.
Future Episodes
Based on the latest episode’s post-show segment, we find out that the Soldiers table will be absent in the upcoming installment, leaving the other eight players to assemble the Explorers and Strategists tables.
Fans can expect learning which players will be in which group in Campaign 4’s concluding setup installment, released on the upcoming Thursday.
